Child Visa

British nationals, citizens from other countries holding Indefinite Leave to Remain in the UK or travelling to the UK under a visa can bring their children (up to 18-year-old) to live with them.

Parents can apply for a Dependant Visa for their children. Where only one parent of the minor is in the UK or travelling to the UK with a Partner Visa, they must provide evidence of sole responsibility over the minor.

The evidence you must present with this application includes:

  • Passport of the sponsor (the person in the UK).
  • Evidence of immigration status of the sponsor.
  • Proof of sole parental responsibility over the child.
  • Child’s passport.
  • Child’s birth certificate.
  • Evidence of suitable accommodation.
  • Certified translations of legal documents which are not issued in English.
